To turn a photo into Cyberpunk Edgerunners style, upload one clear photo to Cyber Anime Filter, pick one of 8 styles, choose a format and download the set of 4 anime images it draws. There is no prompt to write and no app to install. Open the Edgerunners photo generator.
Four steps from one photo
- Upload one clear photo. One person, facing the camera, in good light, with hair and shoulders in the frame. The face, hair, skin tone and expression in the drawing come from this photo.
- Pick a style. There are 8 Edgerunners styles: 4 in the Classic neon look of the first season and 4 in the Season 2 look of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2. The style sets the outfit, the cyberware, the place and the light.
- Choose a format. Vertical 9:16 for stories and wallpapers, square 1:1 for avatars, wide 16:9 for banners and desktop.
- Generate and download the 4 PNG files. In about a minute the set is ready: a portrait, an action shot, a street scene and a key-art poster. Each one downloads separately, with no watermark.
A set costs 1 credit. There is no free tier. Packs start at $9.99 for 10 credits, which is 10 sets or 40 images, and the pricing page lists the rest.

Why not do it by hand?
You can ask a general AI chatbot for an anime version of a photo, or run an image model on your own computer. Both can draw. What they do not give you is the Edgerunners look on the first try, the same character in four different shots, or your own face kept through all of them. Getting there by hand means writing, testing and running again, and each attempt costs time or money. Cyber Anime Filter has that work done already, once per style.
| Cyber Anime Filter | By hand in a general AI chatbot or a local model | |
|---|---|---|
| Time | About a minute per set | Open-ended: write, test, run again |
| What you need | One photo | A photo, a long style description of your own, and for a local model a capable graphics card and setup |
| Consistency | 4 shots in one outfit, one palette and one look | Each image is a separate attempt, so outfit and palette drift |
| Likeness | Face, hair and expression anchored to your photo in every shot. Not guaranteed | Often drifts to a generic anime face or toward an existing character |
| Cost | 1 credit per set, from $9.99 for 10 credits | A subscription or hardware, plus every failed attempt |
The page on what an Edgerunners AI prompt has to solve explains why short descriptions miss the look.
Photo tips that change the result
- Face the camera. Anime reduces a face to a few lines, so the model needs both eyes, the brows and the jaw.
- Keep hair and shoulders in the frame. Likeness in a drawing comes mostly from hair and face shape. A tight face crop leaves the hair to guesswork.
- Skip sunglasses and beauty filters. Ordinary glasses are kept. Sunglasses hide the eyes, and a smoothing filter removes the detail the drawing is built from.
- One person only. Group photos give the worst results.
- Match the light to the style. A daylight photo suits the Season 2 styles. Side light suits the moonlit and neon ones.
- Choose your expression on purpose. It is kept, so a grin stays a grin.
Upload a photo of yourself, or of an adult who agreed to it. Everyone in the photo must be 18 or older.

The optional video
After a set is drawn you can animate it into a 10-second clip. It costs 10 credits at 480p, 22 at 720p or 40 at 1080p, in 9:16 or 16:9. The clip is a silent MP4, so you add a sound in the app you post to. Posting the images or the clip is covered on the page about Edgerunners filters on TikTok, Instagram, CapCut and Snapchat.
